After completing his Bachelor in International Communication at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen (Netherlands), Philip joined the two Berlin company builders HitFox Group and FinLeap in the area of People and Organization. As Senior Manager, he built and was responsible for the People Services division, in which he restructured recruiting, onboarding, and feedback management in Project Management. Prior to joining hy, Philip worked for one year as Senior HR Officer and Business Consultant at Laboremus (FinTech) in Uganda. At hy, Philip is responsible for the HR department, where manages all internal HR issues and the growth of the company.

Jakob studied Film Production at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in Berlin (dffb). He then moved to Los Angeles, where he founded his film production company and, as a freelance producer, headed a regional office of the Bavaria Film Group for four years. Upon his return, Jakob moved into the tech industry as COO and Managing Director of the advertising technology startup TVSMILES. At hy, he designs the internal operational processes and ensures that the company is optimally networked.

His academic background is diverse: after studying Economics, History, and Scandinavian studies, he obtained a Bachelor in Computer Science and Information Systems.

Sebastian is Senior Vice President at hy and is responsible for leading corporate innovation. Previously, he initiated and established the Lufthansa Innovation Hub, as an independent legal entity in Berlin, which was named Germany’s best lab by Capital Magazine. In his role as Assistant to the CEO and Strategist at Lufthansa, he led numerous internal innovation initiatives. He also founded his own e-commerce startup, called OfficePunk. His expertise resides at the intersection of corporate and startup worlds.

Simon Kozlik is responsible for managing hy’s Briefings division. He oversees various service formats intended to prepare companies for the challenges of digitization through collaboration with startups and innovators, and to convey an understanding of technology or market changes. Simon has already worked in the Berlin tech scene for several years, most recently as Head of Operations at shopnow (formerly Axel Springer ASideas) and as Country Lead Germany at Blendle, a Dutch paid content startup.

Previously, John supported the international growth of Intershop, a pioneer in e-commerce software, including a successful IPO. John holds a degree in Business Administration and a PhDin Innovation Controlling.

She received a BA in German Studies and Art History, BSc in Business Administration, MSc in Economics and Business Administration. Elaine is in the final semester of a dual Master’s program in Management and Political Science between HEC Paris and Freie Universität Berlin. Before joining hy, she completed a dual Bachelor’s degree in International Business and German Studies at the University of Maryland. After completing her Bachelor’s degree, she worked in the defense sector, later in public policy consulting. Elaine speaks English, Russian, German, and French.

He studied Civil Engineering at TU Berlin and General Music Studies at Berklee College of Music. As co-founder of the startup Nagual Sounds, he and his team developed software for converting motion data from a motion tracking camera into music. At Accenture, he developed digital business models in the area of digital strategy.

René Schäfer supports our clients in anticipating, understanding, analyzing, and deriving drivers of changing systems, including needs and upheavals in their environment. He deals with the fundamentals of the Internet economy and the effects of future technologies. Previously, he founded Hypermorgen, a consulting firm for strategic foresight and long-term future issues. René studied History, Philosophy of Science and Technology, and Futurology in Frankfurt am Main and in Berlin.

Franz studied Industrial Engineering in Erlangen, Zurich, Lausanne, and Melbourne. He earned his Doctorate in Corporate Entrepreneurship in the Netherlands.

Christoph Schwienheer assists in applying the right technologies to organize and facilitate research processes. He studied Computer Science and Philosophy at the University of Hamburg. Afterwards, he worked for 15 years as an independent Software Developer and Consultant for international companies, startups, and agencies. He relies on Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data Analytics to optimize and scale knowledge work. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of 12K Research GmbH in Berlin.

As Senior Strategist in the Intelligence unit, Martin Spindler supports our customers in strategic matters of digitization. Prior to joining hy, he founded the data science startup 12K, was responsible for market research at the WELT Group, and advised companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Siemens, and Google on innovation topics in Berlin and Beijing. At all stages of his career, the Mathematician and Doctor of Economics has dealt with the question of how companies can anticipate and benefit from transformation processes.

Charlotte von Dryander coordinates the overall project management at hy and supports our clients in developing and implementing individual business opportunities, innovation units, and programs. She studied Technology and Management at TU Munich. Charlotte completed her Master in Business and Economics with a focus on Corporate Innovation Management in Rotterdam. She worked for startups in Berlin and Munich. Charlotte is additionally was involved in the Berlin Talent Summit, where she brought together top talents from international universities and the Berlin startup scene.

Jasmine Werner is a Project Manager in the hy Briefings Division. Jasmine’s goal is to provide an understanding of new technologies, market changes, and startup ecosystems. She also moderates the Workaround Podcast, which discusses current topics concerning the future of work. Jasmine has worked for the City of Frankfurt am Main, HelloFresh, and the New Digital Business of Deutsche Bahn (Beyond1435). In addition to her work at hy, she volunteers for the Future Legends organization, where she empowers young girls to acquire skills for the digital age. Jasmine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Communication.

Therese von Sydow is a Project Manager in the hy Briefings Division. Before joining hy, she completed the Management Trainee Program at Axel Springer. She worked closely with the CEO of Media Impact, the largest cross-media marketer in Germany, on several strategic projects. She also supported the Data and Performance Team in developing data strategy and coordinated four product launches at POLITICO in Brussels. Previously, she worked in product management for the BILD Group and was part of the Global Strategic Marketing Team of Merck, a pharmaceutical company in Geneva. Therese received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Göttingen and completed a Master of Science at Copenhagen Business School, with a semester abroad at Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Jan Wildhirth is Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of hy. Jan studied law at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and the Boston College Law School in Boston, MA and received his doctorate in corporate and capital markets law. Jan completed his legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal and worked for the Federal Ministry of Finance and Hengeler Mueller in Berlin, Slaughter & May in London and Anderson, Mori & Tomotsune in Tokyo. As a lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, he advised listed companies on M&A transactions, capital market issues and corporate governance issues. He joined Axel Springer SE in 2016 and took over his position at hy.
